DeAnna Chapman CPO, FAAOP

DeAnna Chapman is an ABC-certified prosthetist orthotist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. She is currently the Director of Operations for Hanger Clinic’s Clinical and Scientific Affairs team. Previously, she spent over a decade in direct patient care as a clinician and clinic manager, restoring movement and independence while refining EMR and reporting systems. That hands-on experience remains central to her work today, informing how she approaches systems, processes, and value-based patient care.
DeAnna holds a Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Georgia Tech and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois. Over more than 20 years, her career has spanned clinical practice, healthcare operations, business intelligence, and enterprise-wide process improvement. She is especially interested in the intersection of the arts and medicine, believing that creativity and human connection are essential for transforming healthcare.
DeAnna has held leadership roles within the profession, serving as Education Committee Chair and Board Member for both the Orthotics and Prosthetics Foundation for Education and Research (OPERF) and Live in Motion (formerly The O&P Foundation). She has been an examiner for the American Board for Certification since 2013 and served on the Prosthetic Exam Committee for 13 years. DeAnna has contributed her expertise through committee service with The American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists (AAOP), the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE), and numerous other professional initiatives spanning her career. A strong advocate for mentorship and professional advancement, she remains committed to supporting the next generation of clinicians and leaders in orthotics and prosthetics.
